While Catholic Schools Week began with a blizzard, we didn’t let it stop us from all of our wonderful activities this week! Our Open House Tours were moved to this Sunday, the 6th. Each class decorated a door with a Bible story theme, and they are truly amazing! Our PTA also left a surprise outside each classroom with the display, “It takes a BIG heart to shape little minds.”  Each heart was signed by the students in the class and teachers were truly touched! We delivered cookies and posters signed by all of the children to the police and fire departments and EMS to celebrate our community and to thank them for keeping us safe. Tuesday, our Carnival Day to celebrate students, was called by many children, “The BEST day EVER!” What a fantastic day it was for students to come together as Prayer Partners, play games, win prizes and eat lots of carnival treats! Thanks to our many parent volunteers who put so much time and effort into making this event so amazing! It was also “Get Up and Move Day.” Fun dance songs were played over the intercom each hour, and students had a blast dancing and singing in the classrooms and hallways!  On Wednesday, we celebrated the nation by wearing patriotic accessories, donating money to help those in need, and making Valentines for Veterans. Thursday we celebrated vocations – we had a live virtual tour direct from the Vatican with Father John! What a fascinating and incredible opportunity to be transported to Italy to see amazing sights from the Vatican along with hearing wonderful stories and informative facts. Our students even had the opportunity to ask Father John some questions. From Saint Peter School to Saint Peter’s Basilica, what a great trip!! Our National Junior Honor Society members also learned a lot about the vocation of teaching, as they each took a classroom and taught a lesson, from the water cycle, to literature, to phys ed! They did an excellent job! Finally, today (Friday), we celebrated our amazing teachers and staff who dedicate so much time to our school and our students. They were treated to a wonderful breakfast this morning by the PTA (and lunch yesterday) and were presented with a flower from each student! Students had a ball trying to “guess who” for the staff trivia! We truly love and appreciate all who make Saint Peter School such a fantastic place! Blessings – Mrs. Kobrin
