This week our students all enjoyed assemblies courtesy of our fabulous PTA! PreK-4 saw Laser Safari, a journey through the wondrous worlds of the African Serengeti and the South American Amazon. Grades 5-8 participated in Space Explorers, a journey through space while learning about laser communication and laser tools.

We celebrated our amazing office staff on Administrative Professional’s Day! They are incredible.

Our Second Graders planted flower seeds outside their classroom and were so excited to be gardeners!

CONGRATULATIONS to 6th Grader, Vera R., and 7th Grader, Francesca P., for winning the Elks “American Dream” Essay Contest! Mrs. Cooper had Middle School Language Arts students participate in this contest and their essays were outstanding. Francesca won on the local level and Vera took 1st Place for the District! We are so proud of them for their wonderful work!

Talk about excitement!!! News 12 New Jersey spent the morning with us on Friday doing segments about our 100th Anniversary and the Parade and Block Party. Thanks to the alumni, parents and students who came in extra early, wore their costumes from the different decades, spoke for interviews, and helped with whatever was needed! Thanks also to the Larrison Family representing 3 of their 4 generations of SPS Saints! Special thanks to Stephanie Toth for contacting News 12 and to Megan Miller who organized the event.  Their enthusiasm is infectious, and we are so grateful for our school families and incredible children.

Last, but certainly not least, we recognized Students of Character today based on the traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility and caring. Congratulations to all of these students who were nominated by their teachers for one of these traits.

Blessings…..Mrs. Kobrin
